Gravesend hit-and-run leaves 11-year-old boy in critical condition

Police say an 11-year-old boy is in critical condition after a hit-and-run Monday in Gravesend.

A 25-year-old man who was hit by debris is expected to recover.

Police say a black Acura sedan struck the boy near 2183 Ocean Pkwy. around 5:50 p.m.

The Acura fled the scene of the crash and was found abandoned four blocks away at 1801 Ocean Pkwy.

EMS took the man and the boy to Maimonides Medical Center, where the boy is listed in critical condition and the man is expected to be OK, according to the NYPD.

According to police data there have been five traffic fatalities in this precinct this year. Around this time last year, seven people were killed.
