More than 200 people came out to march in the annual Greenpoint Memorial Day parade held on Sunday. This year the parade honors the 75th anniversary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Many of the veterans belong to the American Legion Post 1771, which provides support to veterans, their families and to children in the neighborhood. Brooklyn residents say they have already started preparing for next year?s parade, but they say people shouldn?t wait until then to honor America?s vets. They say those who died for the United States should be remembered every day.
