“We transport at-risk animals that are at risk of being euthanized or hoarding or in neglect situations,” said Schneider.

His organization's mission is to prevent homeless pets from being euthanized by transporting them from overcrowded shelters.

“When it comes to animals it’s about making more space. When you make more space in these facilities you allow an influx of these animals whether temporary or permanent," he says.

Pilots to the Rescue transported 25 dogs up north to be adopted ahead of Hurricane Milton. It was done in partnership with the Humane Society of the United States.

The nonprofit is always looking for volunteers especially trained pilots.
