With several projects underway for Downtown Brooklyn, one community group is working to make the streets safer for drivers and pedestrians.
Some say gridlock, speeding cars and dangerous crosswalks are just some of the problems in Downtown Brooklyn. Some business owners say the lack of parking is also hurting their profits. The Boerum Hill Association says it will monitor traffic in the neighborhood and present the findings to elected officials. Members of the group hope something will be done soon to fix the traffic problems.
Some officials say the ultimate solution is to get more residents out of their cars. They say people should either walk to their destinations or use mass transit.
