Group wants to close book on illiteracy

A nonprofit group is working to increase literacy rates in Brooklyn. Reading Partners, with the help of volunteer tutors nationwide, works one-on-one with students to get them reading at grade level.

A nonprofit group is working to increase literacy rates in Brooklyn.
Reading Partners, with the help of volunteer tutors nationwide, works one-on-one with students to get them reading at grade level.
The program launched in New York City this past fall and now serves more than 300 students.
