Frost Advisory For south Westchester County

From midnight tonight until 7 a.m. Friday

Temps will go down as low as the low 30s, resulting in a chance for frost formation.

Frost can harm sensitive outdoor vegetation and pets that like to stay outside. It may also kill uncovered

plants.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Gusty winds came around last night, peaking into the 40-50+ MPH range across the Hudson Valley.

Strong gusts will back down through the morning hours, but expect a breezy to windy afternoon. Gusts could top around 30 MPH.

Temperatures are trending cooler today than yesterday, due to the cold front passing last night. Expect to feel more of a chill in the air when the winds are factored in.

An unsettled pattern will be with us through the weekend and into early next week as a series of low pressure systems move through the Northeast.

Another low pressure advances towards us Friday evening, bringing breezy winds at first, then rain showers that will last overnight into early Saturday morning.

Another one will approach the region Sunday, bringing rain showers by midday and a large cool down going into early next week.

The coldest air of the season thus far will have us feeling temps into the 20s by Tuesday morning. Brrr

TODAY: Mix of sun and clouds with strong winds in the morning fading down over time. But it'll still be a breezy to windy afternoon. Highs: upper 40s to low 50s.

TONIGHT: A light breeze with mostly clear skies and a chill settling down across the area. Colder air will come rushing in. Lows: upper 20s to mid-30s.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny to mostly cloudy with breezy winds picking up for the second half of the day. Highs: mid-50s. Lows: upper 40s to low 50s.

SATURDAY: Showers fade early in the morning hours to partly cloudy skies and breezy winds at times. Highs: mid-60s. Lows: low to mid-40s.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain moving in by midday. Highs: mid-to-upper 50s. Lows: mid-to-upper 30s.
