Funeral services were held today in Harrison for the man known as "Big Al."

Albert Mazzullo was a lifelong member of the community. He could often be found helping at the town's senior center or singing karaoke at the local restaurants, and he was always on the sidelines cheering on his beloved Harrison Huskies.

The 45-year veteran of the Harrison Fire Department passed away last week.

Services were held at St. Gregory's Church in Harrison. Mourners say Big Al was truly the heart and soul of the town. "Nobody had a bigger heart than Albert Mazzullo, nobody, and we're all going to miss him. It's a sad day," says Pat McCarty, a retired member of the Harrison Fire Department. "Big Al was just the kind of guy that loved everybody. He just never had a bad word," adds John Schwam, of the Harrison Fire Department.

Big Al was 65.
