New York's health care providers have had enough.
Chants of "they say cut back, we say fight back" could be heard during a rally on Friday in the East Gun Hill Road section of the Bronx.
Health care advocates, many of them industry workers themselves, gathered to protest funding shortages that have led to issues with supplies, staff and patient care.
Mayra Hart, an office coordinator with Montefiore Hospital, was one of many pleading with Gov. Kathy Hochul to "open up that budget" to accommodate their demands.
"We have been expressing our sincere concern about the governor's budget for over four months," said Ken Raske, CEO of Greater New York Hospital. "We're not on a sustainable path."
