New York City health officials report a rising monkeypox death toll, including two New Yorkers.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported four monkeypox-linked deaths since the outbreak began earlier this year.

In an effort to stop the spread, more than 143,000 first and second doses of the vaccine have been administered.

Since the peak in July, cases in the city have dropped down to single-digit daily numbers.
