Nursing home residents from the Hebrew Home in Riverdale held a rally Tuesday to protest Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The group of residents, some of which are Holocaust survivors, gathered at the Russian Diplomatic Compound in the Bronx.
Holocaust survivors say it is painful for them to see the war in Ukraine as it reminds them of their own experiences.
"My mother, my sister, my brother, they were all killed in Auschwitz, and it kills me to see the killing in the Ukraine. It hurts me to put on the T.V. because never again do I want to see what I lived through,” said one resident.
People at the rally say they came out to stand in solidarity with Ukraine and call for an end to the violence.
