The last two city championships at the highest level of PSAL football have been won by Erasmus Hall, but that's far from guaranteeing a third win - especially in unique year where last season was two years ago. Junior quarterback Vincent Cajano III spoke to News 12 about getting back in rhythm in 2021.
"We've worked a lot," Cajano says. "There's always some work to be done. It was a little rough getting out from a two-year break."
The Dutchmen are 7-0 with two of those wins coming by way of forfeit. Those are far from rare this season, but Cajano and his squad have had to fight for other wins, including a season-opening comeback win over Tottenville in which Cajano threw the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to play.
Erasmus Hall is scheduled to meet perhaps their biggest rivals this weekend hosting Lincoln on Saturday.
