High School Spotlight: Kennedy Catholic High School quarterback Z.J. Suarez

Improvement never stops for Z.J. Suarez, a high school quarterback who started his career at Mount Saint Michael.
While Suarez started his high school career at Mount Saint Michael, he transferred to Kennedy Catholic just last year. After playing a shortened season last spring, Suarez is now playing his first fall football season as his new team's starting quarterback.
"The transfer process, I'm not going to lie, was pretty hard. I had to adjust to a new school, commuting and all that. I had to mentally focus on keeping it one day to the next, stay present," Suarez says.
Suarez spends most of his free time throwing and learning. Suarez says that growth hasn't stopped and he's constantly pushing himself to get better.
"I know that having a chip on your shoulder is pretty important as an athlete. I would say I have one, but its more so to myself, not to anyone else," he says. "I just feel like I make the most of my time when I'm on the field, and when I'm off the field try to be the best I can as well."
Suarez and his Kennedy Catholic team are 2-1 overall after three games.
