Neighbors near Highland Boulevard say the area is becoming unbearable to live in due to frequent gang activity, loud music and illegal vending.
Crystal Gonzalez says she's lived in the area for decades and took video from her home. She says the loud music extends until 4 a.m.
In addition, residents say there have has been illegal vending and triple parking along this intersection.
The park is divided into two precincts - the 104th and 75th.
Residents say complaints to officers and the Parks Department have fallen on deaf ears.
In a statement, the Parks Department says it has observed the high volumes of noise, illegal vending and parking at the site and is collaborating with the NYPD to address these conditions.
According to a document from Councilwoman Darma Diaz, back in June, the New York City Council approved more than $10 million toward park rangers and patrol officers at Highland Park. However, it's unknown when exactly that will take affect.
