The Brooklyn Historical Society is celebrating the 150th anniversary of Prospect Park with a new exhibit.
The 'Means of a Ready Escape: Brooklyn's Prospect Park' features images and stories embedded in the 150-year legacy of the park.
A timeline that was often met with controversy over the use of cars inside of the park, Brooklyn Historical Society's Deborah Schwartz says.
"There were tensions for a long time around cars and the practical navigation of pedestrians, bicyclists and cars and the issue of wanting to keep everyone safe," she says.
The society teamed up with the Prospect Park Alliance to tell the park's story through the exhibit.
The exhibit will run through July 13, 2018.
