Holy Cross downed Cardinal Spellman on the ice Sunday night, taking over first place and retaining their perfect record in the process.
Holy Cross (10-0-0) never left much of a doubt who was in control of the C Division matchup, jumping out to a 5-1 lead by the second period. They added insult to injury by scoring a shorthanded goal to make it 6-1. They went on to roll by a score of 9-2 and defeated Spellman for a third time this season.
Although Spellman (10-3-0) is out of first place, they're trying to keep their focus.
"[We're] focusing on the playoffs, we're gonna beat them in the championship," said Spellman's captain, forward Joe Carfora.
