Homeless man arrested for shoving man onto subway tracks at 36th Street Station

Police say a homeless man has been arrested for shoving a man onto the subway tracks at the 36th Street station in Sunset Park.

Ivan Negron, 39, is accused of carrying out the attack on the southbound R train platform just before 5 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities say Negron approached a 35-year-old man who was standing on the platform and pushed him onto the tracks.

EMS took the 35-year-old to NYU Langone Hospital/Brooklyn, where he is expected to recover.

Police say Negron faces an assault charge.
