It is Halloween. There are many haunted houses you can visit across the island. A lot of them and one in Seville called Carn Evil is raising money for a good cause. News Twelve's Jen Selig is live at the home which is in Seville this morning. Jen. You've been there before. I think it gets better every year. It sure does a rich. We are on Smith Avenue here in say where you could bring the kids here later on tonight. They will be greeted by scary things in here like clowns and b zombies. A little bit of everything here. There are some jump scares too. Let's meet the people who live here and put the show together every year and you start this in July, Max and Del and you guys are ready to welcome trick or treaters here later on this evening. We very much so and this is all for a great cause we'll get to that in the next head. But what makes it so special for you guys to set up all of this? I think it's just the kids thinking it's the Halloween house or known as the Halloween house or the Skeleton House. So it's really nice. The kids have something to remember growing up that it's, you know, this really beautiful like Halloween out house and this is some stuff that we're looking at on the other side too that no one has seen because Max, you make it yourself. Yes, painstakingly every bit of it. And I love it. What's the best part like, what made you guys want to start doing this? Uh It was very random. It started with One Jack in the box and that guy over there and it kind of just snowballed to be what it is now. So what can kids expect when they come here today? Uh, full size candy bars. Um Just a lot of fun and enjoyment. I think everybody has a great time when they come. We'll be here throughout the morning and we're going to talk about why you guys also do this all for a special cause too. So stay tuned for that back to you guys in the studio. My hands are still shaking going through the haunted house and that's what it's all about. The thrills and the scares, right? Yeah, it really is. Just them coming out laughing saying how great it was. And yeah, it's really the best part of all of this. I love seeing the reaction of people when they come out and you have some jump scares too. Oh, we definitely do. Yeah, I, I don't go in there personally but there are some jump scares going on. The best part is to see the kids. I know lines even form here, right? When people come. Oh yeah. Last year we had a bunch of lines forming. I think people waited like 45 minutes but they said it was worth the wait. So three years doing this and it gets better each and every year each year he builds up and he adds something new and it's really great and it's the last century. All those folks come here at 10 p.m. All right. It's a good time. Oh, my gosh. It's so scary. And the best part is the best part is, is that this is all for charity. Yes. All for charity. You guys like clouds. Guaranteed. Screams here. Oh, it definitely is. We're gonna have more fun and send it back to you guys in the.

There are plenty of houses across the island that are decked out to celebrate Halloween. Yeah, always in your neighborhood or maybe this one, a home in Seville that is raising money for a great cause. News 12 Jen Selig is there right now talking about that cause and also being scared a little bit, Jen. Right. Oh yeah, we have been here throughout the morning and I can promise you if you come here later on tonight that there will be a lot more scared that you have not seen on TV. Yet. This amazing couple three years you guys have been putting all this together and you really do it for the love of Halloween. Max. It's your hobby and passion and you do it for charity every year we pick a new charity and this year is for pay. And who is he is the son of on our end? I used to work with at Long Island Community Hospital. She's an amazing nurse. And so once I heard that he was diagnosed with leukemia, my heart just absolutely broke. He's around the same age as my son. So I came home, I told Max, I said we have to do the charity for him this year and the success has been great so far. Oh, it's been wonderful. Um, we've had some really good nights here. Um, I'm really excited to see what Halloween brings. Um, so, yeah, and Max behind us, you made all this stuff. It's crazy how you could do all this and there's new things this year. Folks came last year. Right. Oh, yes. There are some surprises, some changes that even our customers will not be expecting. And we've done a couple of pretty big editions that are kind of showstoppers. I love it. You guys are right by the Sayville movie theaters. But your exact address where folks can come 48 Smith Street or 48 Smith Ave just put in the GPS and you'll find it for sure. All right, we're going to send it back to you guys in the studio for now.

It's spooky scares all for a good cause I checked out the carn evil hell Haunted house in Seville and they're raising money for someone very special into terror. If you dare for three years, Max and Danelle grimms' home at 48 Smith Street in Sayville. It's known as the Halloween house. They have been transforming their front yard into a thrilling haunted scare walk. It's kind of just been built up every year. It gets bigger and bigger and bigger. Welcoming all ages, be greeted by your nightmares and make sure to stay on the path because there are a few twists, turns and jumps, scares ahead. I love seeing people come out um, of the haunt walk laughing saying how good it was that it, you know, the the weight was worth it. Um And how he did such an amazing job and I make sure to give my husband the props. I, I do a little bit of painting here and there, but he really is the mastermind behind all of this. Max gets in the Halloween spirit early. He starts hanging the decorations in July. Many of the spooky attractions are homemade. It's his passion project, the connections, the visible joy that you can see on people's face, the hysterical laughing that they have when they leave and the excitement of it all getting scared for a good cause. Every year, the grimms pick a charity to donate to this year. They're donating to 11 year old Peyton who is currently battling leukemia. Peyton is the son of a co worker. She's a nurse that I used to work with at Long Island Community Hospital, an amazing nurse. And then once we found out he was diagnosed with leukemia, my heart just absolutely broke and I was like, we gotta do it for Peyton this year. We do not charge for anything. Um If you'd like to give a donation, cash donation, all of it will go to Peyton and his family. If not, if you don't have cash, bring a canned food item and we're gonna donate it to Saint uh Ann's Episcopal Church in Sayville.
