A citywide film competition has turned a group of strangers living in the same Brooklyn neighborhood into friends who seem like they've known each other for years.
The Carroll Gardens residents came together to write, film and edit a short horror flick called "The Girl in Purple" for the "On My Block" film contest, which aims to capture the character of blocks throughout the five boroughs.
Prior to working on the project, now-friendly neighbors that didn't even know each other's names, are already thinking of ideas for movie No. 2.
Entries for the "On My Block" competition are being accepted until Oct. 31.
