Hostess Brands announced today that it plans to cease operations.

This news comes after a weeklong strike by the bakers union, which Hostess said crippled its ability to maintain production.

The company will immediately lay off most of its 18,000-person workforce.

Hostess is hoping someone will buy its brands, including Wonder Bread, Ding Dongs and Twinkies.
