Housatonic Community College is holding a manufacturing job fair today.
The demand in trade and manufacturing jobs is up across the country.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Housatonic Community College Event Center in Bridgeport.
Housatonic is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd.
Organizers say those who come out will be able to meet manufacturing employers, learn about manufacturing careers and tour Housatonic's manufacturing facility.
There will be a pizza truck on site. It's free to attend.
Parking is also free.
As the manufacturing industry expands, the college says it's estimated U.S. manufacturers will have two million jobs available by 2025 due to a skills gap.
Also, as part of National Manufacturing Day, Gov. Ned Lamont is expected to give an update on the state's CareerConneCT program.
The program helps residents whose employment has been impacted by COVID-19 get back to work through training for high-demand jobs.
