A house that collapsed while undergoing restorations in the wake of Superstorm Sandy is prompting safety concerns for other homes being fixed in the same city program.
The house was being restored as part of the city's Build It Back initiative, which has rebuilt roughly 2,000 homes damaged during Sandy.
Neighbors of the house at 70 Beacon Court say they fear their homes may collapse next.
Some residents now say they are skeptical about the program's quality. They say they fear the way the program raises houses is unsafe.
The mayor's office says every site is reviewed by a safety inspector daily, and that an investigation is ongoing at the Beacon Court home.
