When it comes to holiday shopping, New York City is coming in 10th on a list of 25 cities, according to Bankrate.

Analysts found there are many options for shopping in New York, but the cost is high.

According to the National Retail Federation, the average American plans to spend $875 on holiday gifts. Bankrate found shoppers would have to spend over $1,000 in NYC to buy the equivalent of that figure.

To save money, Bankrate analysts say price match when you can and take advantage of tax savings when you spend under $110 on clothing and footwear.
