Some Hudson Valley first responders are getting more financial support.
A $1 million grant will support fire and EMS in Orange County.
Sen. James Skoufis joined first responders at Monroe Joint Fire District's Harriman Engine Company Thursday to announce the increased funding for the agencies.
Sen. Skoufis says the funding was in response to feedback voiced by these public safety professionals.
"All of these guys are doing a lot more with less... We got a really sizeable amount of funding from the state Senate back here at home to our volunteer, fire and EMS agencies," he says.
Skoufis is awarding grants across the district to bolster public safety and ensure much-needed resources for our volunteer first responders.
