Hundreds lined the streets of Greenpoint to honor those who gave their life for the country.

The 17th annual Greenpoint Memorial Day parade made its way up Manhattan Avenue Sunday, before finishing with a memorial Mass at Saint Anthony's Church.

Staff Sgt. Ryan Cheramie says he still remembers delivering bad news to the family of a fellow Marine who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Cheramie's unit, in port for Fleet Week, marched in the parade.
