Hundreds are fighting an up-zoning request that they think would lead to the overdevelopment of Empire Boulevard.
A Community Board 9 meeting had to move locations to accommodate the large number of people who showed up to voice their concerns.
Residents say they don't want more buildings in their neighborhood, such as luxury housing, which would increase the number of people living in the area.
Many have already filed complaints with the city's Department of Investigations, saying that new development plans are being made without community input or approval.
