Residents in Flatbush were evacuated from their building after a top-floor apartment caught on fire.
Officials say multiple fire trucks responded and helped evacuate more than a hundred residents from their apartments at 310 Lenox Road.
The fire chief says the fire started in a seventh-floor apartment around 9:45 a.m. Monday.
The resident in that apartment was able to make it out safely. Other building residents were able to return to their apartments after an hour.
However, the apartment where the fire started was heavily damaged and that tenant will have to stay somewhere else.
Fire marshals have not yet determined a cause.
