Hundreds of tattoo fans gathered at the sixth annual NYC Urban Tattoo Convention in Sunset Park on Sunday.
Many who attended the conference said that tattoos are an integral part of who they are and how they express themselves.
Others said it's a part of tradition that goes back thousands of years.
"Your body is like a temple, so you want to decorate it like your artwork," said Marcella Moreno, who was visiting from Massachusetts.
