Hundreds of firefighters attended a ceremony in Coney Island that honored the lives of those who gave their lives to help others 16 years ago on 9/11.

The service, which took place at MCU Park, read the names of each of the 343 FDNY first responders killed on Sept. 11, 2001.

A bell was also rung at the exact moment the towers were struck.

After he lost two friends and fellow members of Ladder 169 on 9/11, Jim Molinell has held annual ceremonies that bring together the men and women who responded that day.

"Ceremonies are very important to not forget the sacrifice that a lot of firefighters and families and the city itself has made," said Molinell.
