Hundreds paid their final respects Friday to a fallen Marine and a state trooper from Brooklyn who is remembered as a fearless leader.
Captain John McKenna?s fellow troopers, family and friends packed a church in Kensington. McKenna?s family says the 30-year-old died on the battlefield last week while trying to rescue a comrade. He was on his second tour of duty in Iraq.
McKenna previously served in Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. He graduated from the New York State Police Academy last year before shipping out to serve his country.
