The family of Brooklyn father and rising rap artist Deshawn Reid are calling for justice two weeks after his unsolved shooting.
His mother Hermena Cox told News 12 that Reid was shot in the chest in front of his home on Ocean Avenue. His family remembered him as generous, kind and an “awesome human being.”
Reid leaves behind his big family, two young sons and his rap career. His family says music was his passion.
“[Shawn] would always smile, and give you the tightest hugs ever, and those are the things I’m going to miss most about him,” says Nikena Henry.
No arrests have been made so far in the case.
“Justice is what I need. I need justice for my child. I need to know who was such a monster to pull my child from his room and kill him,” says Cox.
