A Brooklyn couple held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention for nearly three weeks slammed the government's policies Thursday just days after returning home.

Concepcion and Margarito Silva were released on $20,000 bond on Monday after they spent 19 days incarcerated at the Buffalo Federal Detention Center. They say their supportive community and their church helped raise the money to get them out.

Immigration officials arrested them on the Fourth of July while they were visiting their daughter and son-in-law — a U.S. soldier — at the Fort Drum Army base.

Military police apparently took issue with the couple's IDNYC cards and turned them over to immigration agents. A similar situation occurred in June at the Fort Hamilton Army base in Brooklyn, when guards questioned pizza deliveryman Pablo Villavicencio's IDNYC card.

The Silvas, who are grandparents, say they were mistreated in custody and even denied their medications.

The Silvas have requested a change of venue for their upcoming hearing so they don't have to travel upstate to make their court date.
