An inferno erupted inside the basement of a building in Borough Park.

The FDNY says firefighters responded to 6007 Fort Hamilton Parkway just before 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. They say the fire quickly escalated to a third alarm and spread to the buildings first floor.

Smoke billowed into the surrounding area as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

The FDNY did not have information about any injuries as of Tuesday evening.
