A new report suggests public Brooklyn pools may not be as safe as some parents and patrons think.
A public advocate sent inspectors out to 27 pools citywide. They found that many pools were missing lifeguard equipment, had inattentive lifeguards and had safety, and structural problems. The report also questions the quality of the water.
Suggestions to improve the pools include having more first aid equipment available and having the Parks Department better train staff members.
