The Bed-Stuy community has put up a temporary art installation in Restoration Plaza, dedicated to the memory of those lost to gun violence.
The large black wooden silhouettes symbolize lost community members. The installation was put together by City Councilman Robert Cornegy.
A vigil and anti-violence protests were also held Thursday night in Restoration Plaza by the monuments. The vigil also served as a platform for demonstrators to protest the grand jury's decision to not indict the police officer involved in Eric Garner's death.
The silhouettes will be on display for about a month.
