A group of students in East Flatbush honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of service at I.S. 285.
It was a day of reflection and action as students made care packages for the homeless and inspiring bracelets for victims of domestic violence.
The Sports and Arts in Schools Foundation runs the after-school program year round at I.S. 285. They say the day's events were aimed at teaching students to show appreciation for Dr. King's legacy by living it.
