New Jersey continues to deal with the aftermath of a major storm that left parts of the state dealing with severe flooding.
Homes, cars and street signs were taken over by flooding in Lincoln Park on Tuesday
Firefighters were called to evacuate residents whose home was surrounded by water.
News 12 spoke to a woman who does not live in the town but came to check on her sister who lives nearby and has been stuck in her home and not able to get out due to the flooding.
“It’s rough, it’s a lot higher than it was last time. Last year, I was able to make it through and wade across to their house but this time it’s much deeper. It wasn’t belly height last time. It was probably like thigh height,” says Monika Schaefer.
Nearby towns like Wayne Township and Paterson remain in a state of emergency due to the flooding issues.
