It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Van Nest.
The Neighborhood Alliance brought the cheer at its ninth Christmas tree lighting on Sunday night.
Santa Claus was in attendance to give gifts to all of the kids who turned out.
Alliance president Bernadette Ferrara says it's not just about cookies, cocoa and caroling. "Events like this basically brings the community together... to bring joy instead of a lot of negativity," she said.
