The first Jamaican beef patty eating contest was held in Brooklyn on Sunday.
The contest was part of the West Indian American Day Carnival, which celebrates Caribbean culture.
Contestants had to eat as many patties as possible in five minutes.
The winning contestant ate seven and 1/3 patties.
"Actually, I came from a barbecue before this so I didn't think I was going to eat that much," said winner Wayne Algemio. "My strategy was just to eat fast and get that water because the edges were a little dry but the inside was delicious."
