Jews throughout Brooklyn spent Friday preparing for the start of Passover.
The eight-day festival of Passover commemorates the emancipation of Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. Members of the Jewish faith say they have the ability to relive and experience the true freedom that their ancestors gained.
Many were busy stocking up on last-minute items such as fish and matzo. During Passover, Jews are not allowed to eat leavened bread.
Jeffrey Davidson says Passover is a great time to be together with family. He says it is also nice to tell the story of the holiday.
