A new court ruling may allow construction of a building that blocks some views of the Brooklyn Bridge.

A judge released a temporary injunction Monday allowing Toll Brothers and Starwood Capital Group to resume work at Pier 1 inside Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The developer told News 12 it is "very pleased with the court's decision and findings of fact that confirm the development complies with the height restrictions imposed on the project, which were adopted after years of extensive community review and input."

Steven Guterman, of the group Save the View, says they will continue to fight to preserve the view of the Brooklyn Bridge from the promenade.

He says the group agreed to the development of a building that would be 100 feet tall and not block the views. Instead, he says they got a building that's going to be 136 feet tall and block the views.

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation, which manages the state-owned park on behalf of the mayor, says the project will help fund maintenance of the park. A spokesperson for the organization says they welcomed the court's decision.
