A father and son rabbi will go on trial in connection with the fatal fire at the Evergreen Home for Adults in Spring Valley.
A Rockland County Court judge upheld the multicount indictment against rabbis Nathaniel and Aaron Sommer.
They face charges including manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
They had sought to dismiss the indictment, but the judge ruled the trial will go on.
Authorities say the fire began after the rabbis used a torch attached to a propane tank to clean the facility's kitchens and ovens for the Passover holiday.
Spring Valley firefighter Jared Lloyd and a resident died in the fire.
Two former Spring Valley building inspectors also face a trial.
