A Brooklyn jury began weighing the evidence against Cesar Rodriguez in the murder of his stepdaughter, Nixzmary Brown, Thursday afternoon. On Thursday morning, the judge asked jurors to re-examine some of the evidence against Rodriguez, who is accused of killing his 7-year-old stepdaughter. The main charges Rodriguez faces are murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree, manslaughter in the second degree and criminally negligent homicide. If convicted, he could face life in prison.Rodriguez?s lawyers say that a not guilty verdict will mean a victory for their client, who believes that he has not gotten a fair trial.Since they are meeting for only a half day on Friday, the jury won?t be expected to deliver its verdict until next week. The trial of Nixzmary?s mother is set to begin soon after the case against Rodriguez ends. She is also facing murder charges.Related Information
