Animal rescue organization New Friends Rescue is asking for help finding a new home for a pit bull who was abandoned on the street.
Rescuers say a little over a week ago, Jiggy was found tied up on Harrison Avenue.
After being notified about the abandoned animal, 14-year-old rescuer Jeremiah Escobar says he found Jiggy with wounds around his neck, sores on his arms and missing fur. He believes Jiggy may have been used to fight other dogs.
Over the past year, Escobar and his mother have been rescuing abandoned animals and finding them homes. They say they hope to do the same for Jiggy.
Rescuers with the organization say they are actively searching for an animal-free home to place Jiggy in.
