One Kensington area is getting a facelift.
Improvements will be made to 10 blocks of Church Avenue through the City Council's Clean Up NYC initiative.
The Association of Community Employment will be employing people to sweep sidewalks and remove trash from baskets. They will also plant flowers in tree pits.
Many residents say they appreciate the new program to keep the streets of Kensington clean. They say sanitation problems have been an issue for quite a while.
Crews will be out three days a week and on weekends. They will be on Church Avenue from Ocean Parkway to Story Street.
