Students are heading back to M.S. 577 today as health inspectors continue to check the Williamsburg school for mold.
After initially stating that the North 5th Street building was safe, the Department of Education (DOE) says it found mold in seven classrooms. Parents have rallied over health concerns, claiming mold is making both kids and teachers ill.
School officials say about 20 percent of students and 7 percent of teachers called out sick.
An emergency meeting on the problem will be held at 6 p.m. tonight.
