Meteorologist Kiyana Lewis joined the weather teams for News 12 The Bronx and News 12 Brooklyn in December of 2019. She’s always dreamed of being a meteorologist and is happy to have this opportunity here in the Big Apple.
Kiyana earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and multimedia production from “the illustrious” Morgan State University. She also holds a certificate of meteorology and weather forecasting from Pennsylvania State University.
She started her career behind the scenes and has a very diverse background in broadcast journalism, including roles such as weather reporter, assignment editor and morning producer at Fox 5, in Washington, D.C., WBAL in Baltimore, and 47 ABC in Salisbury, Maryland. So she knows the ins and outs of broadcast news and weather across the Northeastern seaboard.
Her passion for weather began at an early age, after the historic snowstorm of 2003 dumped nearly 25 inches of snow in her hometown of Philadelphia. After seeing all the news coverage on that snowstorm, she knew that’s exactly what she wanted to do - later joining the broadcasting club in high school and talking "all things weather" during the morning announcements.
When not on air, Kiyana loves exploring the sights and sounds of New York City, cooking healthy meals, a fresh cup of coffee and finding inner peace through yoga.
