Emergency crews were called to Hotel St. George around 7 a.m. in Brooklyn Heights following the sudden collapse of its awning.

The collapsed awning on the sidewalk blocked an entrance to the Clark Street Subway Station. No injuries were reported.

The Department of Buildings says engineers are inspecting the collapsed structure, as well as a second similar awning at the building on Clark Street, which is also showing similar signs of poor maintenance.

Enforcement actions are pending the result of the ongoing investigation.

The MTA says trains will not be stopping in either direction at Clark Street until further notice.
