A winter storm is expected to hit the borough this weekend, and residents are already taking steps to prepare.
At America's Food Basket in Canarsie, shoppers were seen stocking up on everyday items like milk, bread and eggs.
Kerry Ann Johnson, a Canarsie resident, shared her own preparation strategy.
"I'm trying to get most of the necessary stuff, like snacks. We all need it, especially with a child at home," Johnson said. "I want to make sure I have everything done today or early tomorrow morning, so I’m not out in the snow or icy weather."
The wintry conditions could impact travel and commutes throughout the weekend.
