The sky will gradually clear tonight as the cold front that came through yesterday slowly sags through the area. Temperatures will be mild and a bit muggy going into Thursday morning.
Another cold front moves in late in the day, and it's this one that will usher in drier and more comfortable conditions for Friday. Before the drier air arrives, some isolated strong and severe thunderstorms are possible. They will pop up north first. Most won't make it south of Interstate 195.
The storms tomorrow could have damaging wind gusts and large hail. The timeframe will be from about 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. through about 7 p.m.
The humidity will be very comfortable for Independence Day on July 4. Nighttime temperatures will also be much more comfortable.
The rest of the weekend, however, will heat back up. By Sunday, temperatures will rise into the low 90s again. The risk of rain stays very low until Monday or Tuesday of next week.
