A City Council member joined concerned parents on the steps of City Hall Wednesday to demand the Bloomberg administration stop cutting Brooklyn day care programs.
Councilman Bill de Blasio (D-39th District) is calling for a moratorium on day care center closings. The Administration for Children's Services recently identified several centers suffering from under enrollment. The centers must boost numbers or lose part of their city funding and risk closing.
Day care administrators argue it's hard to keep enrollment high with shifting populations and other factors.
